Corrections about reservoir issues story

Carter Strickland is commissioner of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. His position was incorrectly reported in Jan. 24 and 25 stories on city handling of its water system.

The name of state Department of Environmental Conservation Deputy Commissioner Marc Gerstman was incorrectly spelled in a Jan. 25 story and correction.

A story and its headline in Wednesday’s edition misrepresented Carter Strickland, commissioner of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. Strickland said that he did not feel under siege by Ulster County residents at a forum Monday at Ulster County Community College. It was a reporter’s observation that, when challenged after the forum by Kingston resident Lynda Brandt to show remorse, Strickland declined.

Correction: Official's position was incorrectly identified

March Gallagher is Ulster County deputy director of economic development. Her position was incorrectly identified in a Jan. 18 story on the proposed sale of the Nevele Hotel to a casino developer.

Spelling of murder victim's name

Many thanks to the readers who questioned our spelling of the name of homicide victim Ann E. Gaffney. We incorrectly represented her name as Anne Gaffney. The Ulster County District Attorney's Office has confirmed to us that the death certificate lists Ms. Gaffney's name as Ann E. Gaffney.
